Anaheim, California – June 28-July 2, 2011

Total distance driven (includes in-city driving): 21,062 kms (13,087.3 miles)
Average gas consumption: 20 L per 100 KM

After spending more than a week in the Sierra Nevada mountains it was finally time to hit the region California is most known for….”SoCal”.

We drove through Lone Pine, CA – a small town with an amazing view of…

…Mount Whitney, the tallest mountain in the lower 48 states!

Then surprisingly the road started to flatten out. Seems a bit like Texas, or maybe the Loneliest Road in America?

Ahh, there’s the highway we expected. Soon we reach Anaheim in Orange County. We stay at Anaheim RV Village on a site with full hook ups for $52.50 per night. The campsite was a bit over budget but otherwise perfect and it was only a 15 minute walk from the real reason we were in Anaheim…DISNEYLAND !!! Ok…Ok…we said we weren’t going to waste time in a theme park but when we got closer the magic overcame us and we had to go.

We bought a three day hopper pass so we could go into Disneyland or California Adventure. Day 1 – California Adventure all the way!

At Paradise Pier Jason bites into a smoked turkey leg (yum!). Check out the roller coaster off to the right.

That’s the California Screamer. The 2nd longest steel roller coast in the US and 6th longest in the world! It even has a loop!…which scared the pants off Marianna so Jason had to drag her on…three times!!!

Afterwards Marianna checks out the fish…(you can see her in the fish net)

…and tries out the aviator wear…

…before taking the Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage.

The revamped Star Wars simulation was awesome!

We also took in a really funny show in Frontier land. Believe it or not every member of the Billy Hill band was named Billy.

Of course the daily parade was fantastic.

After three days of fun at Disneyland we decided to continue our adventure in “SoCal” by heading south to San Diego.

Hello Disney lovers! So happy you took a few days at the park…nature is great but “unreality” is better sometimes! Love the fish pic of Marianna…haha.

I could not believe how fabulous Yosemite was, glad you went and just how incredible the pics were.
