Our Route
This is a flexible route that we’ll adjust as we go along. As of March 1st, 2011, here’s what the route includes:
The first stop is Charleston, South Carolina followed by Key West, Florida. Then we travel the Gulf Coast of Mexico (Pensacola, New Orleans, Corpus Christi) before heading inland to explore Texas (Houston, Austin, Dallas, “the Alamo”), New Mexico (Carlsbad Caverns, lava fields, meteor creators), and Arizona (Sedona, Phoenix, Route 66, Grand Canyon).
From there it’s off to San Diego, California and up the coast to Los Angeles, California before heading inland to the Sierra Nevada Mountains and Yosemite National Park. We also plan to explore Nevada (Reno, Lake Tahoe, Virginia City, Mojave Desert) and Utah (Zion national park, Arches National Park). Yellowstone promises to be an exciting destination as well – one of the last US destinations before heading back to Canada.
We’re still taking suggestions for great places to visit in North America….many suggestions made their way to the itinerary Palm Springs (CA), Panama City (FL), Sedona, Bryce Canyon, San Pedro Island etc.
