Picking A GPS

We’re preparing for the start of our next expidition.  Jason’s testing out the latest Garmin GPS devices to figure out which one we should use on the road.  The two models he’s testing:  nuvi 255W and nuvi 3760T.  One is rugged, the other is sleek.  As the person looking after our travel budget, I prefer the former – on sale for CA$ 85, compared to CA$ 379.99 for the latter.

We’ll let you know what we end up picking but if you have any advice in the meantime, don’t hesitate to share.

very cool concept. My wife and I are jealous! We’re looking forward to your updates.

am interested in getting a new GPS for the missus, and am interested to know what you go with and why. keep up the posts!!!!

No need for technology, I’ll be your navigator. Amy will be the cook!

We have a Garmin Nuvi1300 it’s pretty good but a couple mistakes just reset settings to original.

this is fun!! great way to keep us up to date, ever hear of Facebook?

I have had a Tom Tom for a few years. Been quite happy with it. I would stay cheap. Upgrades are less painful. Definitely do not leave it where it can be seen. There are people in our fair country who seem to make a career breaking car windows to pick up a GPS to sell. The older and less blingy the device, the lower the chance of the device being stolen.
